What is project housing?+−
Project housing is a furnished home where employees live while they work on a project away from home, often for months or years. HomeShare supplies project and crew housing to companies across the Nordics: fully furnished, serviced and ready to move into, with one contact person for every home.
How close to the site can you find housing?+−
HomeShare always searches from the address of the site, not from the city. You tell us the longest drive your crew can accept, and we only suggest homes within that travel time. The drive to the site is stated in the offer, so you can compare before you decide.
How quickly do we get an offer and housing?+−
HomeShare sends a concrete offer within 48 hours of receiving your requirements. How soon you can move in depends on the city, the number of bedrooms and the date. If it is urgent, say twenty bedrooms by Saturday, contact us directly and we will prioritise the search.
Why do we not pay a deposit?+−
HomeShare does not ask companies for a deposit. We are the tenant towards the homeowners ourselves and provide a guarantee of NOK 30,000 per bedroom in the lease. It covers unpaid rent, damage and breach of contract. So you tie up no capital in deposits, however many homes the project needs.
What is included in the rent?+−
Homes from HomeShare are fully furnished to our own inventory list, including a washing machine, tumble dryer, sofa and TV. Electricity, internet and water are usually included, and we pay the electricity ourselves, not the residents. Exactly what is included, such as parking and snow clearing, is stated in the offer for each home.
Does every worker get their own bedroom, and what does the law say about worker housing?+−
Yes, as a rule. HomeShare plans one employee per bedroom in the homes we supply. Since 01.06.2024, chapter 3A of the Norwegian workplace regulations (arbeidsplassforskriften) requires, as a main rule, that employers who arrange housing give each worker their own bedroom, with a common room, shower and toilet nearby. The offer lists bedrooms, bathrooms and shared rooms for each home, so you can check it against the requirements.
What does employee housing cost?+−
HomeShare has no fixed list prices, because the price depends on the city, standard, number of bedrooms and rental period. Within 48 hours you get a fixed monthly price per home in the offer, with everything included spelled out. One invoice covers all the homes, and no extra charges come afterwards.
How long is the notice period, and what if the project changes?+−
HomeShare agreements are built for projects that change. You can scale down the number of homes at short notice, and if the project runs longer, we usually extend the lease on the homes you already use. Tell us as early as possible, so your crew does not have to move.
Do you work across the whole country?+−
Yes. HomeShare supplies project housing and worker accommodation across Norway, from Kristiansand to the smallest project towns, and on into Sweden, Denmark and Finland. You get the same contact person and the same agreement however many cities the project covers, also when your crew moves between sites in different countries.
Who looks after the residents when something happens?+−
HomeShare looks after the residents from move-in to move-out. The contact person reports faults, questions and urgent issues directly to us, and we follow up with the homeowner, tradespeople and neighbours. You and HR never deal with the individual homeowner.
