Where the crew lives
The data centre is going up at the Port of Esbjerg, close to Esbjerg town centre. The centre is about 3 minutes from the port by car, and Bramming, Varde and Tinghøj under half an hour. The drive times in the list below are estimated with OpenStreetMap from the Port of Esbjerg, without traffic, rush hour or winter conditions.
Most crews will live in Esbjerg, which has the most apartments, shops and places to eat, and the shortest trip to the site. It is the natural base for crews staying a long time. Bramming and Varde, about 22 to 23 minutes away, are quieter. Ribe is an option when little is available closer.
A project crew needs several apartments to rent in Esbjerg or the towns around, ideally in the same area, so they can drive in together and share work vans. We search and map homes from the site location and plan around your shifts, your vehicles and how long you stay.
According to Bravida, Bravida Danmark holds the full technical installation of the data centre in one contract. Esbjerg Airport is about 16 minutes from the port, estimated with OpenStreetMap. For electricians, fitters and other trades working here for months, a furnished apartment is a calmer option than a hotel booked night by night.

Hotel, site cabins or apartments in Esbjerg?
Construction began in August 2026 and the data centre is expected in operation in October 2027, so many crews will stay in Esbjerg for more than a year. Over that span, life after the shift counts for more than the first few nights. The article below compares site cabins with housing.
Questions & answers
What companies ask.
Where is the shortest commute to the site at the Port of Esbjerg?
Esbjerg town centre is about 3 minutes from the port by car, estimated with OpenStreetMap without traffic. Bramming and Varde are about 22 to 23 minutes away and work well when little is available in Esbjerg.
Can the crew live in Ribe or Kolding?
Yes, but expect about 33 minutes from Ribe and 54 minutes from Kolding each way, estimated with OpenStreetMap without traffic. For crews on long shifts we recommend Esbjerg, Bramming or Varde instead.
How do you plan the homes around shift work?
We split the crew across the homes based on the shift plan you send us. Everyone has their own bedroom, so night workers can sleep undisturbed during the day.
Is there parking for work vans at the homes?
We state the parking for each home before you decide, including space for vans. If the crew runs several work vans, we look first in the residential areas outside central Esbjerg, where parking is easier.
How does the crew wash and dry workwear?
Workwear is washed at home in each apartment. The west coast brings wind and rain, so we also look at space to dry clothes and boots when we assess the homes. If you have specific rules for washing protective clothing, we agree on them with you before the crew moves in.
What if the crew changes size or the project is extended?
We look for more homes in the same area when the crew grows. If the work runs longer, we ask the landlords to extend the leases and look for new homes where needed. A lease is signed for each home, with a notice period matched to the length of the project.
